The death yesterday at age 93 of Gerald R Ford, the 38th president of the United States, brought back childhood memories for me. He is the only US president I have met (so far). My elementary school class from Fairfax County VA took a field trip up to DC one day to tour the White House. I have to admit I don't recall much about that day (it was a long time ago, of course) but the event that I do remember happened just outside the Oval Office. The doors opened and President Ford emerged, accompanied by some of his aides. He took a look at us, smiled, and waved, then went down the hall. We of course waved back. His time in office was a little too brief to do many things, but I still remember him as a decent man who took a few seconds of his time to greet a bunch of kids. Unfortunately times have changed, and I doubt tour groups nowadays have the chance to get close to the President. Goodbye President Ford, and thank you.

Lost Angeles Image Works features a variety of cool designs, mostly from Lost Angeles Rubber Works. Right now you can see a weathered Green Man design, holiday snowflakes, a purple glowing OM symbol, petroglyph eye-hands, and vacationing reindeer on a variety of clothing, mugs, cards, prints, buttons, and gifts. Boy, Cafepress will print on anything. The quality is excellent though and they have a money-back guarantee. I have already tested a bunch of items including the women's hoodies and shirts, journals, buttons and magnets, coffee mugs and cards, and love them. A little background.. I got into rubber stamping in the 1990s. It was great, being able to stamp an entire image in seconds. I had so many different ideas though but couldn't find the more alternative type of images I was looking for... so Lost Angeles Rubber Works was born in 1994. It's since grown to include over 800 images including multi-cultural art, animals, holidays, phrases, vintage and more. I've recently added more new designs including a winged angel pug, hibuscus background, a GreenMan, some holiday card stamps, and even more, so come visit!
ASLstamp.com was launched several years later. I was approached by a friend who had just become a teacher of Deaf children. He wanted some sign language stamps for grading papers and motivating children, so I and another artist came up with a few designs including "Super Star!" "Needs Work" "Good Job!" and more, all in sign. ASLstamp.com has since expanded to more than 100 sign language stamps in a variety of subjects and art styles, almost all original designs. Many of these have become so popular that we have started selling them wholesale to companies like Harris Communications, ADCO, DeafGifts and more. If you would like to see our newest designs including a signing monkey, A++ Math and Science, signing kitties and many ILY ("I-Love-You") hands, click here!
I think I'll stop for now.. this is my very first post in my very first blog, so I wanna take a break and see how it turns out. But like Conan the Governor says...."I'll be back!" And please drop me a line.
